Although The Fountain might appear to be a mere tavern, this friendly restaurant has been home to one of the best pizzas in the Capital District for more than a decade. The oversized pies, available in both traditional and white styles, have earned top ratings in virtually every local newspaper and restaurant review. Most customers opt for the pizza, but regulars insist that other menu staples, such as burgers, finger foods (buffalo wings, mozzarella sticks and chicken fingers) and overstuffed sandwiches, are every bit as good. The Fountain is a simply appointed, large and dusky place featuring heavy wooden tables and a busy staff. There is live entertainment, sometimes Dixieland musicians, most weekends. Even with a full bar in the rear, this is a good place to bring the family. -- Bob Smith

Great family place

Pros. Best pizza ever. bring the whole family. Dinners as good as Lombardo's for much less. Good service. Parking Cons. Gets crowded, only one big table

Manager has no Customer Svce

This place has such a HUGE customer base that they are unconcerned with customer service & more comcern with the money they are pulling in. Especially, manager Pat McEvoy. It is not uncommon to wait almost 2 hours for food, but the atmosphere & the food were generally worth it. I waited for 1 1/2 hrs for a pizza. Asked the waitress about it. She was honest. Stated did not put order in, how can she make it up. Told her, no problem, box the pizza when it is ready & bring us some bread & soup because we were so hungry. She came by our table twice with bread & soup for people who had just sat down but nothing for us. 15 min. later, I ask her about it. She did not say she forgot this time, she just hadn't got around to it. She made time for the 2 tables that just walked in though. After 2 hrs we left, still hungry & w/out our pizza. I called the manager & he said, "You got lost in the shufle. What do you expect me to do about it."

Food is great along with the service . If you leave there and you're not full , please don't ever come to my house for ameal . i could never file you up .
