I recently tooked my daughter and son-in-law to Lombardo's for two specific reasons. One was when I use to live in Albany that was a fantastic place to eat despite it's location. Well the best thing about that night was that the parking attendant was superb! I made reservations for 8:30 and despite those reservations we waited for 45 minutes at a very unfriendly establishment. The reason I waited, was reason number 2, I am opening up a restaurant and wanted to check out the competition. The staff was horrible! We asked for more bread with our meals, several times I might add, and never received it. The waitress knew nothing about any of the entrees so it was all hit or miss with what we ordered. The food was okay, nothing to brag about, but not any better than you would receive at a chain restaurant such as the Olive Garden. I did learn a lot that night though, I learned what I didn't want going on in my establishment and what food I would never want to serve. What a big disappointment!

Lombardos
By distantdrum on 01/29/2003
I feel strongly that the dining expirience should be judged evenly between food and service. My wife and I met my daughter at Lombardos for dinner on 1-28-03. The food was generally very good, except for the grilled shrimp that was wrapped in half burned, half raw bacon. I thought that the service was poor. This included both the bar tender who ignored us as he came on duty at 5pm and spent the first ten minutes behind the bar dressing himself ( the tie seemed to be the biggest challenge ), and our snobbly waiter (Nick) who doesn't seem to have the word excuse me in his vocabulary as he constantly leaned across the table causing me to lean away to avoid physical contact. I realize that some people seem to believe that it is OK to be treated like a second class citizen by waitstaff if the restaurant is trendy, or the food is wonderful. But Lombados is neither, nor am I one of those people. We won't be back
