Brewster's is a modern pub with an amiable, turn-of-the-century twist. Having served as a textile mill, theater, doctor's office and shoe store in former lives, this popular spot now caters to a young, diverse crowd that stops by for food, fun and funk in the old-fashioned saloon setting. Exposed brick walls flank the 17-foot ceilings. The stunning, cherry-and maple bar beckons you to belly up and wet your whistle. Live bands look down from a lofty stage above the wood-planked dance floor, where you're bound to find the right beat with hip-hop, soul, funk, Latin, classic rock, jazz, folk or oldies performed live five nights a week. Pick a pool cue and break, or take a break with a Brewster Burger or baby back ribs. Quaintly antiquated and fashionably fun, Brewster's is the best of both worlds -- under one very tall roof. -- Susanna Suddarth

This bar was closed in 2005, and has been "The Library" since then.

Music really sucks
By rayalbq on 05/02/2007
If you want to listen to good music dont go to Brewsters I dont know where they find these so called bands. The staff sucks, if you can get waited on, without being snubbed.

Warm Beer
By roberickson7 on 03/25/2004
With about 40 taps (almost exclusively American macros), you would think that somebody would make an effort to keep the beer cold.
