Green River Barbeque   

My husband and I visit Tryon, NC a couple of times a year. Whe we do, we always travel to Saluda to have a meal or two at Gree River barbecue. (In fact, we usually bring some home to Raleigh to enjoy after our visit!) The barbecue is lean and wonderfully smoked. The hushpuppies are especially great. The restauarant also offers some interesting beers some which are locally brewed. If you like the usual greasy and fatty barbecue, this place isn 't for you.

This is the best BBQ in Western North Carolina. We drive the 35 miles one way gladly, it's worth it. The ribs are generous and succulent, tender. The sandwiches are delicious, the sauces wonderful. And the choices of sides and dessert are numerous and excellent, especially the tomato pie and baked potato casserole. The sweet tea is always perfect.

are these people serious.. the food is terrible.. bar b que is "dry" with No flavor, and the styrofoam plates and plastic forks... what a sorry excuse for a restaurant
