Darwin's has evolved into an intimate blues club. One wouldn't expect to find an authentic, down-and-dirty genuine blues club amid the endless strip malls of Roswell Road. But that's exactly where you'll find Darwin's Blues Club, one of Atlanta's premier nightspots for blues talent. Even from the outside, Darwin's doesn't look like a typical music hall. The club is located in an unassuming wood house with a front porch decked with strings of red lights. But once inside, when the music hits... it's all clear. Darwin's has hosted blues performers such as Roger Hurricane Wilson, Lotsa Poppa and Liz Melendez. The Open Blues Jam every Wednesday night is the perfect opportunity to check out local and regional musicians experimenting, riffing and having a blast. The menu includes chili and a host of sandwiches (everything from muffulettas to roast beef to veggie burgers). For blues enthusiasts, this place is highly recommended. -- Lauren Keating
