Globe Restaurant   

Set in the thriving Biltmore district, this neighborhood eatery comes across like a post-modern interpretation of an Edward Hopper painting. The decor could perhaps best be described as swanky cafeteria chic, with crisp lines, light earth tones, a neat row of stools for dining at the full bar and a a library room full of books. It all provides an elegantly casual setting perfect for business lunches or evening rendezvous, with globe-style lighting that only enhances the cool atmosphere. The inventive menu is equally cool, with unique starters such as grilled Georgia peaches served with Serrano and Spanish blue cheese, and veggie tempura frites (made from asparagus, haricot vert and mushroom) served with a lemon aioli. There are enough starters and "graze plates" to have a tapas-style experience, or you can choose entrees such as coriander grilled duck breast with ravioli and wilted spinach or tagliatelle pasta with clams, zucchini and parmesan butter. Either way, you really can't go wrong.
