Rate and Write a Review If you want to stay close to the downtown action without paying the price at a top luxury hotel, the Hilton will not disappoint. Although the exterior suggests an institutionalized punch-card experience, one step into the lobby will assure you that this is not so. Devoted to the art of comfort and repose, the lobby is like a huge living room filled with seating groupings and a luxuriant indoor garden. Guest rooms -- although consistently large -- vary a bit in quality. The top of the line accommodations are in the Hilton Towers, which feature a private check-in area, complimentary evening hors d'oeuvres and continental breakfast. One of the city's dazzling big-deal restaurants -- Nikolai's Roof -- sits atop the 30-story building and provides spectacular city views. Its mostly French continental offerings are available only in prix-fixe dinners. A more mellow dining option is the Garden Terrace, which features a Sunday brunch buffet with live music. If all that fabulous dining and relaxation makes you feel too lumpy, you can get a good workout in the fitness center, the outdoor pool, the lighted tennis courts or the running track.
