Disco balls, old-school cigarette machines and cocktails served in goblet-like glasses cement the fact this dimly-lit, gaudy room isn?t like many others in our city. Gangs of the young, Buckhead set dance alongside the cut-a-rug mid-50s crowd, making it feel like a youth-invaded cougar-fest. Bouncers keep a close watch and looklike they just escaped from the mafia, strictly patrolling everything from the dress code to those sneaking drinks on the dance floor. All this seems strange when compared to the trendy bar-options in our nightlife-happy city, but Johnny?s is constantly packed. Maybe it?s throwing down with the older crowd that keeps things loose, or the wedding-reception-like excuse to dance, but for whatever reason, it?s tough not to have fun. Embrace it.
