In the old days, a tavern was a welcome sight for weary travelers, who knew such establishments to be friendly places where one could rest for a while and find sustenance in a hearty meal and an even heartier ale. And though the swanky shoppers at Phipps Plaza might seem like a strange customer base for such a homey concept, the Tavern at Phipps has earned a reputation as a great place for Atlanta's most beautiful people to see and be seen.The restaurant's hearty menu is admirably diverse, ranging from simple sandwiches to steaks, lamb chops and seafood. Best of all, their bar is open an hour after closing time, so on weekends serious revelers can enjoy the flashy bartenders' moves well into the night.

great place to relax
the Tavern is one of my favorite spots . I travel to Atlanta on business frequently. The tavern just happens to be very near the hotels there in Buckhead . Who would have ever expected such a place to be interconnected to a shopping mall. You can venture to the bar area or dine closer to the mall side if you need a quieter area. Hey the filet is not bad at all for a "tavern". The quality of the food and drink has always been very consistent.
If you in Buckhead , the Tavern is a good choice.
Southern Hospitality a CHARM
I had the most wonderful lunch ever at the Tavern. Great service and Great food.. Wonderful, Wonderful staff.... Being from the Northeast.. it's great to have that awesome southern hospitality and warmth. I'll definitely go back.. and The filet migon salad is to die for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait to go back to Atlanta... Phyllis
A.K.A. California Dreaming
Tavern At Phipps is the local branch of a southeastern chain known
elsewhere as California Dreaming. Really large, really good salads
are a specialty here, and various nacho concoctions, too. Better than
your average mall restaurant fare, and cocktails, too! Also featuring
Carnegie Deli cheesecake. A nice respite while waiting for movie time
upstairs, I'd highly recommend you go at off times to avoid what can
be a long wait for a table. Go! I doubt you'll be disappointed.
