This modest Morningside bungalow's casually dressed rooms sport bright colors and lots of windows, making everything seem cheery. Mom's home cooking is the rule here. Green bean casserole uses fresh green beans, which turns the mundane into the sublime. Vegetables -- almost all done Southern-style -- are a cut above the crowd in freshness and imagination. Collard greens, for instance, are seasoned with sesame seeds and a touch of lemon. For main courses, everything from turkey meatloaf to the unusual salmon potpie, salmon croquettes and fried chicken takes on singular flavor. Dessert? The seriously wicked chocolate cream pie.

I recently received a coupon on my mailbox for Agnes and Muriel's, and although I had sworn it off about two years ago, I thought I'd give it another try. I said that I wouldn't be going back two years ago, because it was very dirty and the staff seemed to be just hanging out. I never felt welcomed there. This time it was very different. I was so pleasantly surprised by how professional and friendly the staff was, how "cleaned up" the whole place was and how delicious the food was! I'll be back again and again.

i haven't been to agnes & muriel's in a while. the last time i was there, (about two years ago) it was really dirty. this time, the food was great, the service was outstanding and it was cleaner than i have ever seen it! i was greeted several times and felt as though i was right at home.
I really want to love it, but It is dirty and gross
The Mens Bathroom is has loose plumbing, holes in floor (10yrs old) and just greasy. The food is OK, but you can't trust the kitchen is clean and what you are eating to be different from the rest of the space. Everytime I think I really want to give it another try I am just yuck'd out by the cleanlessness of the restaurant. The staff is really good and sweet so I wish them all the best.
