Rate and Write a Review Unlike many cake and pastry shops, Alon's, established by Alon Balshan in May of 1992, pledges no loyalty to one culture. He makes everything from sufganiot (a doughnut-like dessert traditionally eaten at Hanukkah celebrations) to St. Honore (a classic French food made with cream puffs and flavored with Grand Marnier) to flan to 100 percent Italian tiramisu. What's most remarkable is how he does it all with great success. If you need a sweet fix for your European taste buds, this is your spot. If you're hip on Atkins right now, better rethink this one.

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
I ordered a cake from Alon's online but I called first to be sure that I was putting the message for my cake in the correct area so that they would know what to write. They were very short with me on the phone and even though I kept wanting confirmation that the message for my cake was going in the right spot, they seemed uninterested. I was ordering the cake for a very good friend of mine who wasn't allowed to eat any sugar during her pregnancy and so the cake- and the message- served as a little inside joke to be given to her the day after her pregnancy. I made all the proper arrangements all the way from Denver (where I live) to get the cake perfect and when her husband picked up the cake and gave it to her- it had no message on it whatsoever. Even after I had explained to Alon's how important it was to get the message on there. It was only because I had called my friend's husband and asked him to pick the cake up that she even knew that the cake was from me. Furthermore, when I tried to call the bakery to see what had happened they seemed uninterested again and told me they would give me a call back. When they did not call me back I called yet again and was told that I would get my $2 message fee refunded but that was it and that I was definitely not going to get anything else refunded to me. I told them that half the point of sending the cake to her was the message on the cake and that since they had my phone number they should have called me to confirm that I wanted a BLANK cake sent to my friend. Instead the person on the other end of the phone told me that there is no way I would be refunded my money for the cake and then he all but hung up on me. I will never use them again.

Service is Terrible
Food is very expensive and the service is absolutely terrible. There is always a long line even when the place is empty. Try Publix for better service and quallity.
To Die For........
I am very impressed with Alon's. I will be a regular customer for years to come. I know good food, and DESSERT is my forte' . I can only hope to learn and taste.
