Located next to the Fabulous Fox Theatre, this ultra-hip restaurant/lounge has become increasingly popular with the late night crowd looking for a swanky place to hang after the show. Like the Fox, Bazzaar has a romantic sort of worldly appeal, with a loft space filled with cozy Moroccan cushions and intimate alcoves, a dimly-lit downstairs dining area dominated by posh velvet chairs and small tables, and DJs playing a slick blend of chill ambient techno and world music every Thursday through Saturday. The menu (originally created by ATL favorite Richard Blais) is a similarly international blend of culinary influences, with Mediterranean-style tapas divided into three portion sizes -- micro, mini and macro. Fair warning: the dress code is strict and the attitude can be a little thick, so dress to impress if you want to hang with the beautiful people on a busy weekend night.

Disgusting

I went with a girlfriend of mine, and she and I were treated terribly. There was a private party upstairs, and it was clear that the staff was put out by us being downstairs and wanting to order food. I'm a physician and was on beeper call that night, so clearly I wasn't there to drink. When I ordered a diet coke, the waitress groaned, rolled her eyes and asked, "Is that it?" When we said no and tried to order food, she said the kitchen was out of most everything. The service was untimely and rude. The tapas we did get (after waiting for well over an hour) were bland at best and cold. I would NEVER go back.

Unprofessional Staff and Vibe

Took some clients after a show and what a DISASTER! I expected a nice place like this really provide a nice ambiance and we received the exact opposite. The food was OK but the service and attitude was HORRIBLE!! I was embarassed that I had taken my clients to such a place. Will not make that mistake again. From what I have now heard, this place is like more like a private little club for the owner who really doesn't care about any "outsiders" coming in. GREAT business sense!
