Located in the Shops Around Lenox complex behind Swissotel in Buckhead, Dantanna's Surf, Turf & Turf was created by David Clapp, Marisa Dougherty and Tim Williams, three alums of the Tango Group (owners of Cafe Tu Tu Tango). Named after Clapp's children, Dan and Anna, the restaurant remodels the space formerly occupied by Monty's Stone Crab & Seafood with dark woods, leather seats, hardwood floors and a granite bar. The bar remains open late, with a limited late-night menu, and guests can enjoy watching sports on Atlanta's only Holo-View televisions, which have translucent screens that make the images appear to float on air. Designed by Williams, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and formerly a chef at the Gwinnett Civic Center, the menu offers contemporary American cuisine with an upscale flair. The lunch and late-night menus consist largely of the usual bar fare, including sandwiches, burgers and salads. But the dinner menu features some fine specialties, including braised lamb shanks, zinfandel short ribs, aged beef, fresh seafood and a variety of daily house specials. -- Bret Love
