Frontera is a rapidly growing Atlanta-based chain of Mexican restaurants notable for high-quality food and friendly, energetic service. The interiors are bright and colorful, decorated with pottery, rugs, silver, fabrics and other artifacts of Latin America. You'll find more than good tamales, tostados and burritos here. Try the ceviche with fresh orange roughy, the melted cheese with chorizo, the beef taquitos and the fish tacos. More than 30 combination plates feature enchiladas, burritos and tacos. We recommend the chunks of sirloin in pepper sauce (cortadillo); an authentic Mexican shish kebab (alambre) and the piquant charbroiled chicken breast. From the limited desserts, we suggest the churros. Call for information on the mariachi bands that play some nights in some locations. This location and the one in Stone Mountain offer Mexican breakfast on Sunday, a serious treat, featuring specialty dishes such as menudo, carne asada and posole. Other locations.

Best in Atlanta Area /our favorite is the one on Sugarloaf Parkway near I-85

Frontera Mex Mex, who is Mexican, serves great Mexican food, and actually has a better taste factor than the several "authentic" Mexican Restaurants, that we tried in the lower Southwest. Frontera Mex Mex is always clean with pleasant decor. The servers are attentive and polite. There are easy listening entertainers on weekends, who provide soft background music, which is great for dinner and conversation. One day a week they have a strolling Mexican Band & singers; the childern love these musicians. We usually pick a day with the softer music. Every dish we have tried is excellent, We (and many friends) continue to return for good food. We've eaten at most of their locations, but our favorite is on Sugarloaf Pwy, off I-85 in the Kroger shpg. ctr., across from the Gwinnett sport and entertainment venues.

Been eating at this restaurant for 9 years, even at their old location up the street. This is not California Mex, and I am originally from LA This is Mex Mex. Friendly and fast service, They love kids, of all ages. Wife and I like the Alambre, Enchiladas ( every sauce you can get in Mexico), and the chips are always served Hot and fresh with two different dipping sauces. And on and on. They are adding to and adjusting the menue regularly, so you won't be bored.
