We haven't timed it, but the MARTA train ride from Hartsfield-Jackson Airport north to Peachtree Center can't be any longer than 30 minutes. Still, for commuters who long for this inner-city oasis near the downtown station, the voyage could be a little shorter. Seemingly adjoining three hotels -- Hyatt Regency, Hilton and Marriott Marquis -- Gibney's (formerly called Charlie & Barney's) has a knack for collecting frequent conventioneers, flight attendants and guys just getting in from Flint over a fine glass of ale. The central location, of course, is a major draw. And you can understand how 10 TVs, two pool tables and video golf monitors might have a way of generating convos, too. A word of caution though: When regulars are enjoying a bowl of the world famous chili or a plate of Buffalo wings, hold all talk 'til after they've finished.
