Green Sprout Vegetarian   

With so many Asian restaurants in metro Atlanta, you'd surely think it an easy enough task to locate one that's vegetarian-friendly. Unfortunately, however, finding non-meat Asian dishes (aside from veggie spring rolls) has been a bit of a challenge until the emergence of this casual Midtown eatery. Located in the Clear Creek Shopping Mall, across from the Ansley Mall, Greensprout serves only vegetarian fare -- and almost all dishes on the extensive menu can easily become vegan-friendly. Owner and chef Tak Lee Chong prepares the animal-friendly versions of favorite Chinese dishes such as General Tsao's chicken by using soy, tofu, potatoes and flour. And thanks to its inexpensive lunch combos, such as Kung Pao tofu and spicy eggplant with garlic sauce, each served with a spring roll and rice, Greensprout is quickly becoming a lunchtime favorite for vegetarians and meat-eaters alike.
