MF Sushibar (the MF stands for Magic Fingers, or More Fish/Fun or Flavor, your call), was established by brothers Alex and Chris, an artist/chef duo who have presented Midtown with an elegant option for dining on sushi. In fact, MF Sushibar is the first Japanese restaurant in the state to serve only sushi dishes, which include sashimi and Nigiri sushi, consisting of pairs of hand-shaped sushi. You may order a la carte or sushi and sashimi combinations, and lunch dishes come with miso soup and ginger salad. In the sushi department there are traditional rolls (tuna, cucumber, the intriguing sounding mountain root), and a number of eight-piece special rolls (spicy tuna, fried-shrimp tempura, various eel dishes, and the delicious tempura crunchy roll of crab, massago and mayo). A true dessert treat is the mochi, with green tea or other ice cream wrapped in a dough of sticky rice flour. It's truly something different. MF Sushibar also offers a variety of hot- or cold-flavored sake as well as Japanese beers and other beverages. -- Edna McCown

Unexpected Fish Bliss
By nikkic801 on 08/01/2007
I am not a Sushi fan by any means. I have had it plenty of times simply because my friends adore sushi. Since discovering MF I have fallen in love. This place is the best sushi in town. The service is kind of scary at times because the waiters have no place to stand out of sight so they hover but the food is worth it. You have to order the saki as it is this best i've ever had and if you arent adventurous, the sweet tea is great as well. Specialty sushi meals here combine creativity and flavor to make this the best you will ever taste. Trust me!

Overrated

Been to just about every sushi restaurant in ATL, and this is not one of the best...very overpriced and small sashimi portions.

Fabulous- A Must if you LOVE Sushi!
By abbica7 on 02/10/2005
MF is awesome. The sushi is delicious, wonderful ambiance, and the variety of sakes are plentiful. The staff is very attentive, although the sushi chefs are not very talkative but who cares. I went with my parents and dinner for 3 with tons of drinks and food was very reasonable. You dont get that "stuffed" feeling that some sushi bars leave you with. The Lobster roll is dynamite. Definately a must for any sushi lover.

Overpriced and Nothing Special
By anahsshana on 02/09/2005
This place is extremely overrated. I had so many friends talk about how great it was and I was so excited to try it. I went for lunch. I started with a ginger salad with old, wilted lettuce--you could do better at a hibachi place and it cost $5.00 for the salad. The sushi portions were very small and overpriced compared to the other great sushi places that Atlanta has to offer. The ambiance is nice. The sister restaurant, Nam is a much better experience for the money. MF Sushi is really nothing extraordinary and you leave feeling ripped off.
