When it comes to stick-to-your-ribs Italian food and wine, Angelo's Fairmount Tavern has been an Atlantic City institution since 1932.Owned by the same family since day one, this homey, pine-paneled spot has served consistently fine food since its inception. Among the current specialties are lobster ravioli with lobster sauce ($26), mussels fra diavlo ($14) and homemade crab cakes ($20.75). The restaurant is known for its tempting sauces, as well.In addition, the eatery is famous for its homemade red wine, which it also sells by the gallon for your at-home enjoyment. If you like, you can always relax and enjoy a glass at the recently expanded bar, which boasts a lively before- and after-dinner crowd. -- Alissa Wolf

the food is totally brutal-Angelo would be truning in his grave --no garlic -the brocoli rabe was absolutely horrible the only thing that was edible was the bread the and butter-- the waitress was a not nice at all.. we are so disappointed. looked forward to going for a long time. we will never go back again..my husband had a drink ,the olive was rotten. After telling the waitress, she did nothing about it .We will never ever go back again.ps on the way out the door was stuck closed and my husband hurt his finger trying to force it open.

Terrible food and poor service
By lov11 on 08/01/2007
My husband and I ate at Angelo's for lunch on 8/1/07. From the minute we walked in, the service was poor. The waitress seemed bothered to tell us the lunch specials when we asked. Once we received our food, she never came back to ask us how our food was. Needless to say, it was very bad! We barely ate any of our food because of the poor taste and unappealing appearance. The waitress never came back to refill our drinks and it took 20 minutes to get our $20.00 check for food that was awful. I would avoid this place at all costs! We would have rather eaten at McDonalds!

You cannot make a reservation unless you have a party of 8 or more, the wait is usually 3/4 hour, but the lobster ravioli and the homemade wine is worth the wait!
