Tables too close together
By lacyw98 on 02/08/2005
The service was nice and the food was delicious, but the tables one on top of another made for no privacy and there is absolutely no dress code so anything goes on a Saturday night, and some of it was not too attractive.....We were 3 couples and went out for a relaxing dining experience which we did not get because in addition to the tables and slovenly dressed people we had to sit on top of, people are also allowed to bring infants and children of any age on a Saturday night and the screaming kid was not really conducive to fine dining........The prices are too high to allow screaming children..If you can afford to eat in this place, then you should be able to afford a babysitter, and the restaurant should have some kind of ruling about children under four not permitted on weekends.........

Rude
By mlraine79 on 09/19/2004
I can't comment on the quality of the food, but I can say a bit about the service. Over three weeks ago, I made a reservation at Dock's for 20 people. Had wanted it for 7:30, but the man I spoke with said 7:45 would be better so we'd definitely have a table. No problem. So we get there at 7:45, and we're told our table is being cleaned. 8 o'clock comes and goes, around 8:15 I ask what the status is, and the manager (I think that's what she was) tells me the people sitting at our table came in late, and there's nothing they can do. No apologies, no mention of trying to put a couple of tables together instead, not so much as an offer of a free drink at the bar. So we wait. And wait. And wait. Finally, we decide to get the whole group of us somewhere else, and as I go to tell the manager that we're leaving, she can't be bothered to even look me in the face. The food may be good (though I doubt it compares to the Knife and Fork Inn), but just for the absolute rudeness we were treated with, I would never go back there.
