OK, so Pleasantville is not going to compete with nearby Atlantic City as a tourist destination anytime soon, but if you're in town and want a good place to grab some food and drink, Sam's Bar & Grill -- a local haven since the early 1980s -- might be it. Main Street has seen better days, but there are still some other thriving businesses, including a Chinese restaurant and a health food store. Sam's occupies a corner building and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can relax and refresh yourself with a cheap cold beer or mixed drink and enjoy the lively jukebox. Food is more than reasonably priced; a hefty burger and french fries will run you about the same amount as a cocktail at the more trendy AC bars. The menu also includes surf 'n' turf. -- David McKenna

THE SAM'S BAR AND GRILL HAVE A SOUHTERN DOWN HOME,FEEL. THE FOOD IS LIKE GRANDMA'S(DELICIOUS) AND THE STAFF TREAT EVERYONE LIKE FAMILY. EACH TIME I'M IN THERE IT'S LIKE BEING HOME. LAKEINYA DEJESUS,ATLANTIC CITY
