At the corner of Seventh and Congress, right in the middle of Downtown, sits an oasis -- the Hideout Coffee House and Theatre. Never did a place have a more appropriate name. If you're in the mood to just lie low and take a load off after a long day at work or before a long night of play, this is the hideaway for you. Expect good quality coffee served by people who actually seem to care when they ask, "How are you today?" In addition to the java, they have fresh pastries, beer, wine and occasional goodies like empanadas. The Hideout has not one, but two fully functioning theatres tucked away inside, and is the home of Austin's exceptionally funny We Could Be Heroes comedy troupe. Open very early to very late.
