Looking for a place with a little lebensraum? Scholz has been the prime, spacious spot for fine beer guzzling in Austin since 1866, when German immigrant August Scholz replaced his Confederate uniform with an apron and founded the now-legendary Bavarian-themed establishment. Scholz offers a wide array of beers from Germany and elsewhere, plus a full menu featuring bratwurst and wienerschnitzel for the hungry Hun in everyone. It also serves as a venue for the Wurst Band, a vast orchestra of lederhosen-clad tuba players that's been around since 1871.
