A Charm City institution that's seen more lives than Shirley MacLaine. These days the Depot's throngs are young and into house and retro dance grooves. Disco strobes light the throbbing dance floor while dancers writhe to techno, industrial, house and alternative sounds, all spun by club DJs. The regular Thursday night Beat Gallery brings an eclectic mix of jazzy house and turns into the very popular LucidStep every third Thursday of the month. Wednesdays and Sundays make room for the '80s while Friday stays focused on metal bands. Look for drinks specials throughout the week as well.

Baltimore's best 80's Fridays
By drekalb on 01/30/2008
The Editors info is REALLY outdated. Friday nights is the Depot's ALL 80's Night and has been for quite awhile. The Music is great especially if youre into the alternative , new wave stuff form the 80's but they play a little bit of everything. The DJ is really good and will take requests. The people that hang out there are cool as well. I always have a good time there.

First time at The Depot
By nldigest on 07/30/2006
I am from West Virginia and don't care much for the WV bar scene . I have always liked Baltimore, so I wanted to find a place that catered more to my liking. I searched for a place using "80s" as a search. The Depot was the first name to come up. I read the reviews and decided to try it out. The room was kinda small, which I like, yet things were spread out nicely so that it still felt plenty roomy. Unlike a lot of the small bars in Baltimore, The Depot was very clean. The DJ was playing a good variety of 80s music, and the sound system was perfect. It wasn't so loud that you couldn't talk to people, and there was none of that horrible muddiness from the bass being to loud. I was there for about three hours and noticed that the bar patrons were very friendly and looked very happy to be there. The best part was the bartender named Rochelle. She is very sweet and kind and has a dazzling smile, and she sure smiles a lot. I like going to a place where the bartender looks like he or she really loves being there, and Rochelle made me feel like were best friends. I introduced myself to Pat, the owner. He bought me a drink when I told him that I come all the way from WV to check it out. I had a great time there and I will be back soon.

The Depot is great!!! Pat is a really fun and crazy guy. Our favorite night is the Friday 80's music. It is a very different place so don't go there thinking it is the normal "meat market".
