If you subscribe to the "bigger is better" theory of entertainment venues, Rams Head Live! will jump to the top of your list of Charm City concert halls. At 26,000 square feet, and designed to hold 1,800 patrons, it's twice the size of any other Mobtown haunt. Rams Head Live! should feed Baltimore's need for a rockers' destination -- after all, when you're cranking the amplifiers, sound (and size) matter. Local and regional bands will share space with touring national acts, which will take up about 14 nights a month. But beware of the strictly enforced minimum age of 21 (IDs required). Food kiosks serve snacks during shows, or opt dine in the adjacent tavern, where show tickets earn a 10 percent discount and passage through a special entrance. A loft-like dance floor and gaggles of flat-screen TVs add modern touches to the industrial atmosphere created by exposed brick, balconies and track lighting.

Decent Venue, Iffy Staff
By t3h php h4x0r on 02/05/2009
All-in-all Rams Head is a good venue. It's fairly decent in size, multiple levels (with balcony), and has several food/beverage options. Prices are a little high, but nothing out of the ordinary for this type of venue. I've seen a few shows there and would recommend the place. As far as the staff and security, I sometimes feel they're up to no good. For example, the reviewer CRaZyLaXQt works for Rams Head and is trying to pad this review. How do I know? I subscribe to the Rams Head newsletter and all promotional images are located on CRaZyLaXQt's account at photobucket. That's CRaZy! As for security, they generally keep things running smoothly, however I've seen a few guys try to pick fights with patrons, and I find that a little uncalled for as they're the ones who are supposed to keep order. I wouldn't use this as a reason to stay away, but don't talk back to them or you will be getting the boot, even if you did no wrong.

Rams Head Live = AMAZING!
By CRaZyLaXQt on 07/10/2008
Rams Head Live is by far my favorite place to enjoy live music in Baltimore. There is always something on the schedule for everyone. Rams Head represents all genres of music. Not only is the music great but the whole atmosphere of the Ram rocks! The place is much cleaner than almost all of the other music venues in Baltimore. Also, the bathrooms are huge so you aren't missing half of the show waiting in line for a two stall closet! The staff is amazing and I love the micro brew on tap! I could go on all day about how great this venue is but you really have to check it out to understand!

Worst Venue to see National Acts... ever
By Mobtown001 on 06/11/2008
From the androtarded security and ticket takers to the pack em in and pray a fire doesn't break out mentality Rams Head Live is the worst venue I have ever been too in my life. If there is an artist i need to see i will travel to the 930 club in dc or or to philly the next night to avoid the cesspool that is Rams Head Live. BE WARNED A TICKET TO A CONCERT DOESN'T GUERENTEE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SEE THE SHOW AT RAMS HEAD LIVE. YOU MAY BE LUCKY ENOUGH TO WATCH IT ON A LCD TV THOUGH! LUCKY YOU!!!

All-time greatest
By Angry Sigh on 05/16/2008
I've been to lots of similar venues, and I have to say that this is the best around. It's not in a bad neighborhood like a lot of local clubs tend to be, which is a definite bonus. They have their own house beer on draft, and it's actually good, and the staff and the venue are awesome. The only pitfall is that Baltimore is a pain in the ass to navigate, but since it's that or DC, it's still the lesser of two evils in that respect. I highly recommend this club.
