Actually three unique and historic lodgings under one umbrella name and address, Gibson's Lodgings are located just steps from the City Dock, market, Naval Academy, and such renowned taverns as Middletons and Riordans. Each component has its own style, appeal and charm. Two of the properties are restored; the third, completed in 1988, was designed to blend into the mood of earlier times. All are charming and comfortable, internationally recognized, and perfectly located. A total of 21 rooms among them have easy access to courtyard parking. The Berman House: The Berman House, listed as "the host's choice for comfort" among the Gibson's Lodgings, was completely renovated in the mid-1980s. One guest room has a private bath and special accommodations for those with disabilities. Eight other rooms share four baths. A relaxing parlor with dining area accommodates small gatherings. This attractive stucco structure began its historic life as the home of a prominent merchant family. Today, Berman House/Gibson's Lodgings provides a welcome haven to the traveler. You'll enjoy all that Annapolis has to offer within easy walking distance as well as a charming overnight stay in a lovely historic inn. And a safe place to park your car! The Lauer House: The Lauer House may be a best choice for those who want the look and feel of an historic home, but the comfort and security of a new structure. Combining elegance with charm, Lauer House is a romantic choice for an enjoyable overnight stay. It also offers parking in the courtyard. Completed in 1988, the lovely look of this brick structure blends easily with its older Gibson's Lodgings counterparts. Two suites and four rooms, all with private baths and modern appointments, are an attractive draw for those visiting Maryland?s state capital. Lauer House also offers a functional and attractive conference room, making it a popular choice for small meetings and special events. This is not a facility that can accommodate a wedding or rehearsal dinner. However, it is possible to arrange for a luncheon meeting or perhaps a family reunion. Ask when you call about available amenities and outside caterers, etc. The Patterson House: The Patterson House could be a perfect spot for a family or group of friends to enjoy a visit to Annapolis. They'll have free and safe courtyard parking and suggested walking tours of the historic area. Just steps from the city dock, shopping area, restaurants, and Naval Academy, this lovely lodging provides six charming and well-appointed rooms with three bathrooms. Two parlors and a formal dining room complete the homey feeling. Ask about parking and other accommodations. Steeped in history, this 18th-century gem captures the heritage of beautiful Annapolis. The original property was designated as the home of the First Naval Officer of Port Annapolis in 1681. A decade later the site is referred to as the "Old Courthouse." Evidently the current structure was built by 1786. The Maryland Historical Trust Survey describes the home as a Federal or Georgian townhouse with a Victorian faade. Whether you're into history, comfort or just getting together with friends and family, this could be a great destination for you. - Tracey E. Meloni
