If youve been here more than twice, you call it "The Horse." This is a Fells Point bar similar to many others in the fact that it is very old and dark and has a large store of regulars and tourists who come here to drink copious pints of beer. Old pictures of horses hang on dim Wuthering Heights-style walls with shuttered windows keeping the sun out. With a happy hour that starts at opening on weekdays and lasts until 9PM with two-for-one or all you can drink specials, this is decidedly a great place to drink vastly. During such times, you are likely to see regulars with their pants glued to the bar stools at the front bar while a bartender supplies drinks. On the weekends you'll find a variety of live music acts. There is one show at 5PM and then one at 10PM on weekend nights. Shows also run from 10PM til close on weekdays. The place can go from sluggish to frenzied in the span of an hour. If you shove your way through the dance floor, youll find another larger, more modern bar. An Orioles ticket stub gets your first round two-for-one, and there is free popcorn and foosball for everyone anytime.

An Institution

When you don't know where to go, or where to find people and music in a fun atmosphere on a slow night, you can rely on the 'Horse' to deliver. It's success has made it a consistent performer if not imaginative - you know what you are going to get. The bartenders mix just the right amount of attitude and welcoming service. The music has shown increased variety recently. Always relaxing other than the weekends which are of course packed.
