Rate and Write a Review Silk Shirts and khaki trousers emblazon the night sky at Baltimore's newest hot spot. The Lava Lounge is a multi-level club located in the old CharterHouse at the Baltimore Harbor. If you like pulsating techno-beats and the latest top 40 dance music, and if swank and sophistication are your forte, this stylish club will cater to your fancy. However, be prepared. There is a dress code along with a hefty ten-dollar cover charge! So be ready to spend some cash. The layout is fabulous, but the large crowds impede movement. Situated high above the rafters is a third-floor art gallery, but due to the insufferable congestion, it might be better to arrive early if you really want to scope out the place. The second floor offers a few pool tables, which are right in the middle of a high traffic area. Ouch! Adjacent to the poolroom is a small dance floor hidden away from the endless procession of stair climbers. After dancing, the first floor has a section to accommodate your tired legs. A section of couches offers some rest and relaxation for lounging swingers. But don't lounge in the hallways! The security is not friendly to those unfortunate few who try to camp out. Intimacy is out of the question in a place of this scale; but for the hardcore club hoppers, this is definitely one you don't want to miss! - Frank Palmisano III
