This stern-looking brick edifice some blocks from the water and town center has a AAA 4-Diamond award for excellence. It's located near a major renovation area, but is still within walking distance of the historic district. Once inside, a four-story atrium belies the cold fatade. A helpful concierge makes it clear that the warm welcome goes beyond looks. Guest rooms are very attractively appointed, upholstered and draped in appealing textures and fabrics. They feature cable television, hair dryers, irons and boards, coffeemakers, terry robes and in-room refreshments. "Plaza Level" rooms are oversized and luxuriously comfortable, with a private lounge serving complimentary continental breakfast and afternoon snacks. The hotel has seven suites, some with balconies (although there is little to look at). One-bedroom suites have sitting areas; two-bedroom suites have connecting hospitality rooms. There's a business center, conference center, heath facility, valet services, room service, a hair salon, gift shop and parking. There's also a complimentary shuttle to take you wherever you'd like to go in Annapolis. The hotel's restaurant and lounge are popular, especially on weekends, when there is entertainment. The West Street location of this hotel makes it an ideal choice for those who want to be close to the action in Annapolis, but out of the mainstream and with easy access to the highways.
