If you're going to a neighborhood pub like Betty & Jakes, you probably wouldn't expect to order anything fancier than a burger. And that's a good thing because this Catonsville bar's burger is your best bet. These gargantuan slabs of meat are enough to feed an entire family of light eaters. The other popular specialty on the menu is the shrimp salad. Opening at 7AM, the folks here will rustle you up some eggs too. But despite a fairly decent menu of pub grub, it's clear this place is about drinking not eating. The three-sided bar takes up most of the space, only leaving room for a shuffleboard game, jukebox crammed with oldies and a few tables. Friday and Saturday nights karaoke keeps the place busy. Carryout liquor sales are conducted from a separate entrance near the kitchen.
