Facing the waterfront in Annapolis, Buddy's upstairs restaurant makes a good first stop on any crab crawl. Not only is the harbor view splendid, but this casual eatery also offers an early all-you-can-eat buffet featuring, of course, seafood and a raw bar. You'll have to pay extra for the crabs -- ribs, too, Buddy's other specialty -- but that means double dining pleasure. Or skip the buffet and concentrate on crabs, liberally seasoned with a hot, punchy mixture that pairs well with one of the many brews poured here. Skip the ribs, too, because the crabs are really the stars of the show. Down-and-dirty crab eating at its best! There's also a Laurel location.

RED LOBSTER CLONE !! wanna be
This wanna be 'red lobster' did not impress me with its cold ribs and warm soda. It was ridulous !!! Avoid !!

ive eaten in the annapolis store a few times the crabs were cold so they heated them and were dried up ,and we went for sunday brunch place was packed typical brunch and the food was ok not worthy of the price they were asking though ,the roast beef ran out by 1100am and was never replaced ,and they kept bringing out the fried chicken like it might have been called buddys fried chicken or something ,that was the only meat left,as far as sanitation yeah it was nasty in the bathroom out glasses still had food in them ,and the omlet cook wiped the sweat off his brow and hand tossed the ingriedients for the omlets ...zesty ,there are no crab houses in maryland anymore they have all gone ,funny a state know for there crabs doesnt have any places to eat them and all there delivery trucks are from north carolina ,maybe north carolina is the new crab state ,we have more crab houses in va and dc than the whole state of md ,its pathetic

How can you list Buddy's as a very good crab house. The place is horrendous. I live in Annapolis and wouldn't step foot in the place. If you really want good crabs go to Harris' on Kent Island. They're about as good as you'll get. Also there are plenty of other great crab houses on the island and around Annapolis. Don't call yourself an expert if you like buddies. I'm a chef and have worked only in seafood resaurants and also grew up with family on the water. Buddies is not good. Hayman's in Edgewater is pretty good, so is Cantler's in Annapolis, and as you did mention Mike's Crab House, also in Edgewater. Next time I suggest more research, maybe talking to the locals, and having more experience and knowledge of the food.
