Rate and Write a Review Canton's Dockside on Boston Street is decidedly unpretentious. It's the kind of place that rewards a spur-of-the-moment decision to dine out with a generous and fairly priced feast. The bounty of the Chesapeake is the heart of the menu and that point is made by three soup selections all derived from crab. It's served, Maryland-style, creamed or as a bisque, which is the house specialty. You can belly up to the bar, sit in the dining room or pound market-price hard shells on the outside deck and watch the maritime commerce which has dominated the Canton landscape for generations. Nosh on a crab pretzel, a crab cake-topped stuffed Portobello mushroom, barbecued scallops or sesame chicken tenders as starters. The shrimp boil -- a pound steamed with onions and potatoes in a mixture of beer and Old Bay -- is perfect for the table. The daily catch of rockfish, ahi tuna, orange roughy or Atlantic salmon can be broiled, blackened or fried. Shrimp and crab marinara, the king's cut pork chop or a New York strip are popular entree selections. Try soft shell crabs, crab fluffs or imperial crab -- or opt for a gargantuan sampler of orange roughy, crab cake or clams casino.
