Newcomers often blink in disbelief when they pass the corner of Boston and Fleet streets for the first time. Yes, that's a boat docked at the intersection, and inside its gray hull are enough dishes to satisfy all cravings on a 24/7 basis. Kids delight at eating in the teak-accented dining room and peeking out the portholes at the nearby waterfront. Adults revel in the affordable prices, while hungry students, restaurant workers and Fells Point and Canton merry-makers flock to this place for a late-night bite after the bars close. The restaurant is open until 1AM, but the carryout here is 24 hours. But whether you're interested in breakfast, lunch, dinner or a snack, Captain James' mammoth menu offers you something, matey. For breakfast try the hotcakes, cream chipped beef or steak and eggs (featuring a 10-ounce NY strip). Subs, sandwiches and pizzas are available for lunch. Few seafaring galleys have served up the range of dishes available here, including Greek and Italian standards, steak and crab cakes -- not to mention comfort food like liver and onions, hot roast beef or pork chops. In the warmer months, Captain James opens a crab deck across the street, where you can crack 'em by the dozen or in all-you-can-eat fashion. -- Pete Kerzel

Close the place down and save people the missery!
By Pbhci on 05/25/2008
Stopped in today for a cheese steak and onion rings. My friend had a softshell crab. never saw one cooked like this. It had more bread filling then the size of 5 crabs. Horrible!! My food was so bad I are about a third. The roll was wet line it was premade and zapped in a microwave. This place should be avoided. They serve better food in a Turkish prison.

Not worth it

Maybe they've changed management, staff and chefs since I've last been but I doubt it. The food was sub par. I'd rather go across the street to the other late night eatery.

A Night Out With The Girls

My girlfriends and I often meet at Captain James for dinner. We love the servers. We love the fact that they are never too crowded and the food is good. We always have an enjoyable time at Captain James Landing.
