Rate and Write a Review Captain Larry's in Locust Point is one room, with a wooden bar seating a dozen, a few scattered tables and a wall bench. Neighborhood regulars create a din tilting towards Charm City sports, politics and current events. From the outside, painted battleship gray, to the interior walls containing dust-covered maps and advertisements showing Baltimore's maritime heritage, the theme is decidedly nautical -- one wall is painted with a detailed mural of the Mobtown waterfront and ductwork has portholes cut into it. This is a shot-and-a-beer stop, with a well stocked (and antique) bar featuring everything from Lite Beer to Dogfish Head Pale Ale to Troengenator Bock on draft. But the house specialty is a concoction of sweet, black rum and spicy ginger beer served over ice called "Dark and Stormy." The kitchen churns out pleasing pub grub. Some specials, such as a pound of steamed shrimp and a pitcher on Thursdays, are advertised; others, like half-price steak burgers on Saturdays, are not. Cash only.
