Offering a stunning view of the Annapolis waterfront, Carrol's Creek is right across the bridge in Eastport, practically within walking distance of historic Annapolis. Perhaps the best item to order is seafood, although the kitchen also turns out juicy black Angus filet with black pepper and onion marmalade, lamb loin with sweet-and-sour red cabbage, and free-range chicken breast stuffed with sun-dried tomatoes and spinach. But the star of the show is the crab cake -- plump, meaty and free of breading, baked to a golden brown and served with garlic mashed potatoes, succotash and lemon-scented remoulade. Desserts include a fresh-fruit-and-cheese platter, a rarity on American menus, or forget the calories and order Ben & Jerry's ice cream. The wine list features regional selections by the glass.
