With all those sun-blocking buildings going up between Harborplace and Fells Point, it was only a matter of time before restaurants started opening in the burgeoning Inner Harbor East development. Chiu's Sushi, next to Bin 604, is one of the newest. If the name sounds familiar, it's because the Chiu family has been a staple on the Charm City dining scene and this quaint combination sit-down/carry-out brings a 'hot' dish, sushi, to where the masses are. You can get your sushi in all the traditional manners at Chiu's -- sashimi (fresh sliced raw fish), nigiri (prepared fish on top of flavored rice), temaki (in a cone) and maki (rolled sushi). As for types, the sky's the limit. Chiu's offerings include vegetable, tuna, clam, octopus, squid, egg, crab, shrimp, eel, sea urchin and roe from salmon or flying fish. Tempura and teriyaki dishes -- think chicken, beef, tuna, pork or that Baltimore delicacy, soft-shelled crabs - are available for those who don't favor raw fish. Want to explore the Far East cuisine? Combination plates, matching tempura and teriyaki dishes with complimentary sushi offerings, are the way to go. -- Pete Kerzel

Best sushi EVER!
By jimmywu111 on 07/11/2008
Can't find a better raw fish joint in town! We go here at least once a week, for the fresh sushi at a very affordable price. The owner is always friendly and the service is great! We look forward to our trip out to Chiu's every week...!

The food is excellent, staffing could not be any nicer, price is affordable, and great location! You don't have to deal with the heavy volumes of traffic and it is in a quiet and cute area, especially with the new buildings and businesses being built. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone! GO EAT THERE! =)

Chui Review
By sfdubes9 on 06/19/2008
Because of the high reviews on the AOL Cityguide website, we thought we would dine at Chui's for the first time. To celebrate my parent's anniversary we drove all the way from Pikesville excepting a great evening. The ambiance was a little sterile, but the service was good. Given the restaurant's locale, the prices were slightly high for what they offered. As for food, the ingredients were noticeably fresh, but overall the dishes were generic.
