Rate and Write a Review Along North Point Boulevard, Baltimore County's de facto crab corridor, Costas Inn is renowned for somehow pulling off the most elusive of crustacean feats -- managing to have a ready supply of steamed hard shells no matter the month. Where some places trot out smallish steamers during the winter months or simply stop serving altogether, owner Costas Triantafilos flies them in from Texas and Louisiana. Big ones, too -- like the bounty of the Chesapeake Bay in summertime. If you want to crack crabs at Costas, make a reservation, as first-come, first-served takes on a new meaning. When you call, you'll be informed of what sizes are available and given back-up options. When the critters come off the truck, they are parceled out to the top names on the reservation list. You're in for a treat -- tender morsels of crab from shells coated in a sweet-and-spicy homemade seasoning so popular that it's sold in local grocery stores. Not in the mood for crabs? There's a wide array of poultry, steak, chops, pasta and sandwiches, including pit ham, beef and turkey. Karaoke wafts out of the adjacent bar on weekends, but can't completely drown out the sound of happily used mallets. -- Pete Kerzel
