A Sicilian landmark among Little Italy's best, Da Mimmo's signature is flamboyance. This dimly-lit, stylish restaurant, specializing in southern and northern Italian cuisine, is best known for its enormous butterflied veal chop, charbroiled and seasoned with rosemary, garlic and sage. Try the Mediterranean-style, broiled swordfish steak or assortment of other veal and seafood dishes. Part of the Da Mimmo experience is portions to excess. Enjoy nightly entertainment, singers and piano players, from the comfort of your red velvet chair. Limo service delivers guests to and from the restaurant and hotels. Dress is elegantly casual; it's best not to bring kids under 5. On your way out, stop for a little star-gazing. The walls are covered with grinning, tanned and well-fed celebrities, posing in signed photographs snapped against the backdrop of that very same wall. If celebrity endorsements mean anything, multitudes of personalities, including Dustin Hoffman, Jim Palmer and Danny Devito have all sampled Da Mimmo's delights. -- Tracy Vogel

The Best, Always The Best & This from A New Yorker....
By BELLADONAITALIA on 06/27/2008
As stated in my heading I'm a New Yorker...Besides being an Italian American I have lived in Italy. My daughter went to Hopkins & remained in Baltimore. So I have had plenty of time to explore....Words cannot express how I feel about Da Mimmo. I love the food, the service , the staff, the ambience. It has never failed me.The wonderful food & service has been consistently excellant for the last 12 years we have been going there. The attention to detail, the beautiful muted blue walls , the huge delicious portions. the service is impecciable. Just to show you how very accomadating Da Mimmo is..my daughter had a destanation wedding 7 years ago..her father in law had chossen another venue for the rehersal dinner, also in Little Italy....it will remain nameless.....two weeks before the event I walked in & asked for help..The management changed all their events to accomadate us....All we kept hearing for days after, was how incredible the food was. The limo service makes it just a little more special. This from a bunch of New Yorkers. Da Mimmo's is a MUST if your visiting Baltimore, are a native, for that special occasion . So very romantic. But most of all the food is incredible....CONSISTANT DELICIOUS FOOD.....

Just pathetic
By mclreyno98 on 08/14/2007
My husband and I just returned today from a trip to Baltimore. We made reservations at, "one of the best italian restaurants in the city," before we departed for our trip. However, the best part was the limo pick-up and drop-off from the hotel. Thank god this specific driver was employed, it saves me from calling the entire staff a group of snotty jerks. Specials are pushed...and for good reason. My husband's veal chop - $45, which contrary to what Da Mimmo's will have you think, is not the best in the city. Tasted like it had been saturated in Old Bay seasoning, which the waiter tried to cleverly pawn off as their own, original, paprika based rub. I opted for chicken on my putenesca, instead of the Chilean sea bass which was offered in the "special." Not only did this cost me an additional 8 dollars for lesser quality meat, but it tasted identical to my husband's grisly, old-bay raped veal chop. I'm unsure if Da Mimmo's has lost touch with their Italian roots, but this was literally and figuratively miles off the map from Boston's North-End. Oh...and i hope you love up-close mug shots of 10 year old boys with B grade Celebs, because you'll get plenty of them in the tacky smoked-up piano lounge.
