Many people are surprised to find Ding How in the midst of Fells Point, Baltimore's trendy singles scene. This old-fashioned Chinese restaurant is an oasis on Broadway's otherwise over-stimulating stretch. For more than a decade, patrons have sought refuge in Ding How's brightly lit dining room and high-backed bamboo chairs. Many stay for awhile, ordering multiple courses and rounds of umbrella-garnished drinks. Just because it's old-fashioned doesn't mean that the menu is tired or stuffy. The offerings here come from all over China and focus on the cuisine of Canton, Shanghai and Szechuan. Standards such as moo shu pork, General Tso's chicken and vegetable lo mein receive a delicate touch. Don't be afraid to stray from the usual to give their surprisingly affordable seafood specialties (such as lobster and soft-shell crab dishes) a try. -- Cynthia Glover

Best, bar none!

I live in another state and Ding How is a must visit everytime I come to Baltimore. Best Chinese I've had out of 3/4 of the states including China Town's in New York, DC, LA, and 23 countries. By far the best I've ever had and I consider myself picky. Say hi to William, best waiter I've ever had.

Standoffish to Return
By tastbud on 03/29/2007
Though I loved their food overall, the last experience I had there caused me to never return. I had ordered a meal which came with dry noodles for decorative purposes on the side. As I went into an attack mode, I noticed motion in the noodles, (and it was not my fork.) I politely asked the waiter to remove the plate from the table pointing out the little critters. I did receive a new plate of food, but with no apology for the roaches in my previous meal. (I was politely handed the bill).

The restaurant as well as the staff and owners are very professional and the food is outstanding..I wouldn't go to any other chinese restaurant. To my family this is the fusion restaurant without the name..very Euro-Chinese..love it

Good lunchspot

I frequently go here for lunch. For about $6.00 you can get a bowl of soup, an eggroll, and a good portion-sized entree. You can't beat this for a sitdown restaurant. Oh yeah -- the food is good too.
