The name can be misleading. Edo does specialize in sushi but does much more, too. The Timonium-area restaurant has a faithful following and is known for its attentive, friendly service. For the uninitiated, however, Edo, stuck in a suburban strip mall in an area overrun with suburban strip malls, might be hard to find. Keep looking until you uncover it. The lovely rice-pattern screens, warm wood paneling, inviting, interesting decor, and fresh, inventive sushi will make you glad you did. Edo Sushi has two dozen rolls, with the Volcano (tuna, salmon, cucumber and a creamy, spicy sauce) being a hot item. The greaseless, crisp tempura, shuami dumplings and seafood udon soup, are crowd pleasers, too. The conch salad is a good place to start and the yosenabe, a broth loaded with fresh seafood, is another pre-entree treat. Edo is BYOB, so don't forget to pick up before you arrive. -- Penny Colston

The Best

Obviously the last reviewer was someone from San Sushi trying to promote the restaurant. Edo Sushi has the most creative rolls I've seen and the quality is always fresh. They own 3 additional locations throughout Baltimore but they are all family own and operated so the quality is consistent.

Not as Good as San Sushi
By golddnce on 06/09/2007
I thaught the presentation and taste lacked spark and originality. The cheffs were not personable. A friend and I sat at the bar, no interaction with their customers. For my money I would go to San Sushi. The staff is friendly and the food is great.
