Fleming's marries the customary with the contemporary, retaining the traditional meat-lover's menu while replacing the normally masculine clubhouse/steakhouse atmosphere with something more airy. Located in Inner Harbor East, Fleming's caters to people looking for the upscale but familiar -- the Baltimore franchise has sister restaurants in more than 10 other states -- and delivers Ruth's Chris or Morton's sans testosterone. It specializes in juicy steaks grilled to perfection, everything from a petite filet mignon weighing in at 8 ounces to a 22-ounce rib eye. But there's more for the carnivore, including veal chops with bearnaise sauce, Australian lamb chops, and a pork rib chop with apple-cider Creole mustard, apples julienne and celery root. Seafood selections range from the simple (lobster tails with butter) to the more complex (grilled swordfish with mango, cilantro and red-onion salsa).
