Housed in two rowhouses knitted together at the former exterior alley, now enclosed and painted with a lively floral mural, this O'Donnell Square old-timer has come a long way from its former carryout beginnings. Over time it expanded to include a bar and the elegant upper and lower dining rooms, which now provide a tranquil haven in busy Canton. Known for its extensive wine list, which includes more than 40 wines by the glass, Helen's food is also a big draw. Consider their blackened tuna with a tomato cream sauce or the Roman lamb, which is brined and sauteed with honey, grapes and feta. Its happy hour is fantastic, especially when you consider the wine list and that at the bar glasses are half-price nearly all day long. Don't overlook the weekend brunch when you'll find special omelets with roasted potatoes alongside.

Awful
By laxmanao on 12/16/2007
Supposedly this is a hot brunch spot so I gave it a try. After a bad experience I gave it two more chances. Three strikes and you're out. The food was sub-par. One of the dishes I had I couldn't even finish. And I had ordered that dish as a third choice because they were out of ingredients for the first two (how you run out of ingredients at 11:45 a.m. on a Sunday I don't know). Also, the waitress brought me another coke and there are not free refills. She never told me there would be a charge -- she just brought it. I don't know how anyone can like this place. The atmosphere is OK, but the poor service and AWFUL food means I'm never coming back.

We've been on numerous occassions and absolutey love it! Great salad selection at lunchtime, fantastic meat and fish for dinner and a great brunch on the weekend as well.

Great Atmosphere and Food
By huneeeb on 04/07/2007
This is a great place to have dinner with a group or go for Sunday brunch. The dining areas are unique and I have never had a complaint about the food. The waitress service I would rate as fair.

A STINKING TERRIBLE JOINT --
By wreeling21 on 01/06/2007
OUCH! --- THIS WAS AN AWFUL PLACE --- IT MAKES ME SICK TO MY STOMACH TO THINK ABOUT THIS STINKING TERRIBLE JOINT WITH REALLY BAD FOOD -- BAD SERVICE -- BAD MANAGERS -- BAD OWNER -- BAD COLD COFFEE -- TURNED BAD SOUR MILK -- BURNED ENTREES -- WE WERE SERVED ALL THE WRONG FOOD WITHOUT ANYONE EVER RETURNING TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THE OWNER DECIDED BEST WAY TO DEAL WITH "THEIR INFERIORITY" WAS TO HAVE A BAD ATTITUDE WHEN THE COMPLAINT CAME, SO HE ACTED LIKE WE DID SOMETHING WRONG. ONLY THING WE DID WRONG WAS TO TRY AND EAT THERE! -- A TERRIBLE PLACE TO GO AND FULL OF "LIMP-WRISTED-GAY-TYPES" THAT DON'T HAVE A CLUE & NEVER WILL ABOUT OPERATING A GOOD RESTAURANT !! I DON'T KNOW WHY ANYONE WOULD EAT THERE WHEN THERE ARE GOOD RESTAURANTS AROUND THEM IN CANTON!! JUST STAY AWAY!! A STINKING TERRIBLE JOINT -- QUINTESSENTIAL C U I S I N E © by epicurean raconteur
