When a fire ripped through Ellicott City's Main Street in1999, the 19th-century storefront that now hosts this upscale eatery was nearly destroyed. Today the lovingly restored building is home to one of the region's most distinctive steakhouses. Rust-colored walls atop dark paneling set an elegant tone, while exposed-brick accents and dimly glowing sconces add a bit of a contemporary flair. The steaks - with a rub of garlic and sea salt and a brief firing in a 1800 degree broiler - have a unique flavor that may not be for everyone, but there is plenty else to please. Lamb chops, chicken and several fish selections round out the menu for those not interested in beef. Desserts like the melted coconut gelato with strawberries and Grand Marnier or the chocolate pate are worth saving room for. Jordan's is only open for dinner except Sundays when an ala carte brunch is served.

great steaks and service ...pricey, but impressive. My fav, the 2LB cowboy steak Jordan style (salted top) ...plenty to take home for another meal. Also the Tomato and Mozzerla salad and Tiramisu are not to be missed. Def. a 10 on teh scale.

My boyfriend and I are frequents at Jordan's. I think it's an excellent restaurant with a relaxing and romantic environment. Both the service and the food are exceptional, and I would highly recommend this place to anyone who has ever thought of going to a steakhouse. Did you know it's the most romantic restaurant in Maryland and one of the top 50 in the East Coast? The head chef said so himself. Yeahh... BEAT THAT.
