Rate and Write a Review Wayne Mahaffey wants you to try a new beer every week. When he opened his new pub back in February 2002 on the site of the former Canton Cabana (behind the Safeway), he knew he was going to be a small fry in the burgeoning Canton bar scene and would have to do something special. He came up with the rotating tap. Mahaffey's features eight different drafts. Four stay the same. There is always Miller, Miller Lite, Yuengling and hard cider. The other four pour different microbrews that change constantly. Every time a keg runs out, Mahaffey switches it for a different beer. "There are so many good beers available in the Baltimore area," he says. "I want to encourage people to try all of them." He makes it affordable, too. From 4-8PM, Monday-Saturday, happy hour prices include three 12-ounce drafts for $5. Mahaffey's also serves food -- sandwiches, burgers, etc., including the ubiquitous Canton blackened tuna bites. On Thursday nights, the place often features guest bartenders, customers or local organizations, pouring drinks for charity. -- Tod Harrick
