A true staple of Baltimore's Little Italy, Sabatino's has been around for as long as you can remember. It's the kind of place everyone has heard of and tried and -- judging by returning guests -- if you try it once you'll most likely decide to make it a major part of your Baltimore dining experience. "Sab's," as it's fondly nicknamed by locals and employees, is a comfortable place where the whole family can enjoy an Italian-style experience; it's also a haven for those craving a late-night snack or fine, full course meal. Sabatino's ambience has been created with distinctive Italian elements that provide a cozy feel. Owned by the same family since 1955, the gigantic menu focuses on homemade pastas, and dishes that include seafood, veal, chicken and beef. The Bookmaker Salad alone -- an amazing concoction created with shrimp, salami, cheese, egg and Sabatino's beloved house dressing -- has created a permanent spot for itself on that list of favorite treats you'll go back to, time and time again. -- Rachele Lawton

Best Veal Parmegean I have ever had
By Lgllyons on 07/25/2008
I have had the chance to eat at many Italian restraunts across the country and the world and this is my favorite, as far as the food. Much of the staff has that "Baltimore attitude" which can be a little rough unless your use to it, but the food is 2nd to none. Not really a fancy place, but it does have it own charm.

Consistently Great
By off2stpete on 07/22/2008
I love this place. I have been eating at Sabatino's for over 25 years. I love the atmosphere, the food, the service...everything about this place. I don't really think that Sab's is trying to be the finest dining restaurant in town. I think they're trying to be just what they are...a really, really friendly reasonably priced Italian restaurant that consistently serves great food in an atmosphere that's a step above casual, but not pretentious. I like that I can dine in a tablecloth restaurant dressed casually without spending my mortgage payment for dinner. I like that the servers are open and friendly and they talk to you and laugh with you and they're regular people. They have awesome Clams Casino, Baked Rigatoni and Veal Francaise. I love the Bookmaker Salad and the Chicken Parm. And the Shrimp Renato is out of this world. I wouldn't eat Italian anywhere else!

Overrated beyond belief

Anyone who considers Sabatino's a fine restaurant must not get out very often. Everything seems to be overseasoned with cloves and the bread is served cold. Giveme a break.
