The food at Della Notte Ristorante is an interesting blend of both Innovative and Traditional Mediterranean-inspired Italian cuisine using only the finest pasta, veal, beef, lamb, poultry and fresh seafood. Enjoy classic Italian cuisine as well as innovative new world culinary creations prepared in an open kitchen. The chef's seasonal appetizers might include thinly sliced Proscuitto di Parma, paired with fresh Florida figs and sprinkled with shards of Pecorino Toscana cheese, or brick oven-baked Chincoteague oysters from Maryland's eastern shore.

No Longer Top-Notch

As a long-time patron of Little Italy's restaurants, this was a first-time trip to the well-known Della Notte. The best feature of the restaurant was, regrettably, its on-site convenient parking and not the food or service. We found the price to quality ratio exorbitant, and the service slow but friendly. It was 45 minutes after being seated before our orders were taken, and another 45 minutes before the main courses were served. True, we were not rushed and were allowed to pursue a leisurely dinner Our table of twelve ordered a variety of appetizers, soups, main courses, salads, etc. The minestrone was excellent, but the portion small. The caesar salads were excellent. The bruschetta and caprese were shameful and no decent Italian restaurant, whether here in Baltimore or in Italy itself would serve or prepare these dishes as they were done by Della Notte: small portions, one small slice of sort-of bruschetta accompanied by another small piece with mozarella on top; and the caprese a mishmosh of small tomato slices and buffalo cheese. The calamari was badly prepared and accompanied by a marinara that tasted as if it had recently come from a jar. The chicken main course (Pollo Fritto) ordered by three of us was dry, overcooked, and mainly lacking in flavor and taste. A complaint brought no response. The 6 oz filet at $34 (exorbitant) was not prepared correctly and was reported to taste more like pot roast than filet. A good point: bread was abundant and refreshed regularly; a good thing given the portion sizes. The desserts were average in taste and appearance (better off going to Vaccarro's afterwards). Wine selection was good, and we were served an excellent Merlot at $30 per bottle. Given the overall cost of the meals and the quality of food, we'd recommend almost any other Little Italy restaurant than Della Notte, placing it pretty near the bottom of an extremely competitive market

My husband and I started going to Della Notte since they opened. We visit about twice a year. We even had our rehearsal dinner there. They were great. They handled the 20 people and their ordered perfectly. The food is always delicious and the service is friendly. Free parking does not hurt either. We have always had a great experience at Della Notte and look forward to going again for our anniversary.

Noisy environment. It was so loud in ther we could not hear each other speak. Food was ok though. Nothing to write home about, just another place to eat.
