Formerly a popular Fells Point restaurant with imaginative Southwestern cuisine, Lista's relocated to a busy Mountain Road stretch of Pasadena in Anne Arundel County and changed its name to Lista's Southwestern Grill. The tasty Tex-Mex creations and bountiful Sunday brunch are still the same; you just have to drive a little further to partake of them. An array of soups -- such as corn and crab, black bean, menudo and or red or green chile -- are a perfect starter. Flat iron or rib eye steaks are prepared three ways: backyard grilled, Santa Fe blackened or ranchero style (smothered in salsa and cheese). Ribs of fire are, as the menu promises, "hot, hot, hot." Seafood specialties include garlic shrimp, crab enchilada and tortilla-crusted salmon. You can't go wrong with the traditional Southwestern grub, and Lista's earns high marks for its enchiladas, burritos and fajitas. Try Sunday's brunch with everything from soft breakfast tacos to Texas migas (shredded corn tortillas, sweet onions and peppers scrambled with eggs) to huevos rancheros. -- Pete Kerzel

Our Favorite Place--And Pasadena's Best!!
By SSynowski on 07/26/2008
To put Lista's in the "Mexican Restaurant" class is to do it an injustice...it is way more than just Mexican style food. Ruben can cook ANYTHING and compete with the best. His cream of crab soup is the best around--has a surprising "southwestern kick!" His crabcakes can compete with any of the Baltimore restaurants. My husband loves his "ribs of fire" and I love the garlic shrimp--actually we have never had a meal that wasn't great. His guacamole is the BEST! He even has Lumpia on his menu and they are great too! Ruben is always adding "special" dishes to his menu and they are always a special treat. My husband's new favorite was last week's pork in a Modelo flavored mole sauce. He worked in Mexico for 6 months but said that was absolutely the best mole sauce he had ever eaten. I had a shrimp and angel hair pasta dish that was wonderful. We always love to go on St. Patrick's Day when he has Irish music and a totally Irish menu--it is such fun and the dishes are always different! My whole family loves Lista's as do all of our friends. We love to go there because everyone is so friendly, the wait staff are a cut above and the music is always different and always great--everyone makes you feel like family.

Lista's is the Greatest
By jjngilbert on 07/19/2008
We are frequent customers of Lista's and have thoroughly enjoyed every meal we have had at this restaurant. The food is always fresh and prepared to order. The proportions are more than adequate as we most always have enough to take some home. The chips are fresh and crisp, the salsa robust but not overly spicy. Each week there is a different menu of special items that change frequently, but you can also enjoy their standard menu as well. Ruben, the chef is always experimenting with new recipes which we found to be very appetizing. The ambiance is very warm and hospitable. The waiters are very professional and cheerful and make you feel very welcome. Upon entering the restaurant the owner, Kathy, is always there to greet you and make you feel that you are the most valued customer in the world. My wife and I, our children and grandchildren and our friends thoroughly enjoy eating at Lista's. They are #1 in our book and we believe everyone will enjoy a meal at Lista's . John & Joyce

ALWAYS EXCELLENT!!!

We've been coming to Lista's for years, and each time we leave (after an always excellent meal and dining experience!) we're already looking forward to our next visit. As good as the food is, we don't just come for the food; we also come for the people. Kathy, Ruben, & the entire staff are warm and friendly and make people feel welcome. We've introduced many friends to Lista's, and it's always received rave reviews and people are eager to return! If you haven't yet tried Lista's - GO! You'll love it!!!!

Terrible!
By JustJoJewels on 06/22/2008
First of all, Lista's frequently has a sign outside the restaurant that says "This is NOT a mexican restaurant!" We have tried Lista's on three separate occasions, and each time we have been very disappointed. The chips and salsa they serve (even though they are not a Mexican restaurant) are terrible store bought brands. The food, for lack of a better term, is no better. The sign is right, this is NOT a Mexican restaurant! Don't bother with Lista's at all!!!
