I have revisted the NAIB numerous times and my family enjoys it all the time, but it can agree that it can be a little frustrating with the no stroller policy, but I guess we can get what we want all the time. I have seen many poeple with the kid backpack carriers and I think they are a good investment when visiting this attraction if you have really little ones. If I could have my way I would suggest that the prices could be a bit lower because with a family of 4 it can be quite pricey when visiting different attractions but other than that it's great. Very pleasant and inviting!!!!! :o)

To adress Negative Issues

For all planning to visit the NAIB, I must say that it is a positive, and memorable event for the whole family. Those that complain about not being able to use strollers throughout the building, clearly do not understand that it is a hazard to do so. Strollers are not permitted due to the escalators throughout the galleries of the aquarium. It has been deemed by the fire dept. as a regulation to not have the strollers and it is for everyone's safety as well. When visiting, it is a self guided tour, which means, you are allowed to tour the building as much as you like for as long as you like. Maps are provided upon entry. There is a dolphin show periodically throughout the day and it is timed. When purchasing tickets, you are presented with the next available timed entry to the building and for the show. Everything else exists in the galleries and are exhibits, not shows.

not for young family
By dawnshannon9 on 09/22/2004
It's too bad that this "family" trip is not really geared toward family @ all. We have 2 small children and I'm sorry but, the NO stroller rule is horrible!! Not only do my husband and I not want to walk around with an extra 20lbs on us but our children don't care to stay that restrained for a long period of time either!! What about parents who have an infant and a 2 year old; have you ever tried to chase a 2 year old while carring a baby. The no stroller rule, rules out fun for families w/small children!
