What a knockout view! This 15th-floor restaurant takes in the great sweep of the Inner Harbor in a vista that reaches all the way past Fells Point into the shipping lanes along which freighters make their way toward the Chesapeake Bay. Inside, all is cool in gray and blue so that pesky reflections in the glass don't interfere. True to its name, Pisces specializes in seafood, gussied up in contemporary style and almost as good as the view. The Chesapeake paella overflows with goodies -- shrimp, mussels, rockfish, chicken, andouille sausage -- embedded in its saffron-and-tomato-tinged rice. And the whole rockfish topped with charred tomatoes, pine nuts and lump crabmeat brings well-balanced flavor to the table. Service can sometimes be agonizingly slow, but there's always that view to pick up the slack. The Sunday all-you-can-eat brunch at the mammoth restaurant is truly a sight to behold. Kick things off with a complimentary mimosa and then establish your game plan. Are you going to hit the carving station first for some succulent roast beef? Maybe you're in the mood for a made-to-order omelet. Of course, there's also plenty of seafood, salads, fresh fruit, imported and domestic cheeses and a wide variety of freshly baked goodies and sinful desserts. Brunch is served 10AM-2:30PM and reservations are usually required. Call ahead for current prices.

I spent the weekend with some friends that had traveled from out of town. We visited some shops and caught up on everything going on. All I could think about the entire time how great it would have been to spend it with Dennis Mead, I love him very much and always will .

Not tonight...you're out!!
By kkris777 on 02/18/2007
Well, the American Express Concierge Platinum Service usually comes through in this highly lauded category...restaurant bookings...not on this cold February, Saturday evening. Upon arrival at the Hyatt Regency Inner Harbor, the valet service was unusually slow and bogged down with an event...go figure an event on a Saturday night, in downtown Baltimore's Inner Harbor. Where was the staff I ask? Strike one! A 10 min wait for the elevator and finally a smoke breaking Pisces employee guides us. Strike two, I hate smokers. Hostess was great, seated us 25min early with a view to die for, even asked about our matinee show "Wicked" at the Hippodromex Theater. Ball one. 5 min later the "water boy" poured and brought bread. Ball two. Now industrious as I am, I printed out the menus to peer over prior to arrival. Interesting selection of seafood and appropriate in Baltimore. The real menu was the same but this time prices included. Nothing was under $28 a plate..ok so we are in for some first class fine dining I thought. Ball three. No specials and not feeling special at this point orders were taken. Strike three. Next at bat. The creamy crab soup came out cold and uninviting. It did have large chunks of crab, but $9 a bowl it should. Strike one. Next, the 25 min wait for our main course. Strike two and three....next at bat. Dishes still on the table and three apologies later the main event. Ball one. Now, I should diet a bit but not tonight. Did the chef see my pants a little snug and adjust the portions specifically for poor little me?? My $34 plate of three fish selections was a little LESS than an appetizer. Salty, bland with a quirky sugar cane straw sticking out of my one scallop... I was floored. The wife had two plump crab cakes with as much flavor as stone ground corn starch and the daughter had an interesting steamed red snapper with not a lick of curry as advertised. Strike two. After that gastronomic adventure dessert couldn't be worse. 6 sel

Best Dinning Out Experience
By downtownderrick on 03/22/2006
I cannot begin to rave enough about the world-class cuisine and service I recently recieved while dinning in Pisces. The view is breathtaking and the live music and delightful drinks in the lounge post-meal was a fantastic way to end the evening. I have dined in some of the best restaurants world-wide and consider Pisces to be one of my most memorable meals ever. You must try the Wild Striped Bass and the Crab Cakes; but for a seafood restaurant the Prime Filet Mignon was outstanding! Make reservations as the night that I dined was extremely busy.
