Most restaurants would be satisfied with simply being a revered, intimate destination. But not Tersiguel's in Ellicott City, which sees its mission as two-fold: to serve up some of the trendiest and tastiest French fare this side of the Atlantic and to educate the dining masses about French cuisine, wines and culinary traditions. Whether you're seeking romance or in a 50-person party, you'll experience the exceptional dining and superb ambience that Fernand and Odette Tersiguel have been blending for two decades. Much of the food -- herbs, vegetables, fruits and cheeses -- comes from the owners' own farm. Veal medallions with wild mushrooms, crispy duck with plum sauce and roast pheasant are among the more popular entrees, and Tersiguel's boasts a wine cellar of 200 vintages. And true to its mission, Tersiguel's hosts cooking classes and monthly wine dinners so you can learn more about the delicious French fare. -- Pete Kerzel

Always a great experience
By cymraesteg on 01/04/2008
We have enjoyed and appreciated dining with Fernand in all of his restaurants over the last 30 or so years, and have never been disappointed. We had Christmas Eve dinner at Tersiguel's in 2007, and it was an absolutely perfect evening. The little dining room is charming and intimate, the evening's special menu offerings were superbly prepared and presented, and the wait staff make you feel like a special guest and not just another customer.

The Best
By hmsmrs on 02/22/2007
I agree. The "No Way" person must have an agenda. Tersiguel's is marvelous. We've been there many, many times way back with Fernand in previous venues. Never a bad experience. Never pomposity. Never anything but fine food and a relaxed, friendly, yet celebratory visit.

Outstanding Service and Food
By jjosport on 02/08/2007
How interesting that two reviews are so much polar opposites of all of the other reviews. One might think that person or persons have some sort of an agenda. I have been a patron of this terrific establishment for over 10-years. I have never felt it to be anything but a top quality experience. I have dined in some of the finest restaurants in the world and am always amazed at how consistently outstanding the food and service are at Tersiguel's.

No Way

Tersiguel's continues to be a waste of time and money. Truly a case of the Emperor's New Clothes. No one wants to admit that this place is full of pomposity and pretense with mediocre food at very high prices. La Madeleine's in Columbia is far better and much more reasonably priced, and it's a chain...go figure.
