At Highlands the traditions of the American south meet the traditions of the South of France. Buttery colored walls with vintage French posters, warm lighting and crisp white linens help create a setting which is inviting and comfortable for business dinners, special occasions, or just a late evening supper for a weary traveler. Classic cocktails, a healthy selection of beers and a world class wine list just might entice you to come in a little early for your reservation. Or stop in for a cocktail after work and stay for dinner?we serve our full menu at the bar. The setting is ideal for impromptu or less formal occasions. Since 1982, Highlands has served a daily changing menu informed by classic French techniques and incorporating the foods of the region. Fresh gulf seafood, locally grown organic produce, and sustainably raised poultry, beef, veal, lamb and game are the foundations of the dishes created by James Beard Award winner Chef Frank Stitt.

Getting divorced? Looking for your next mate? Try Highlands on Tuesday nights. Apparently they serve food, too.

Frank Stit, owner and chef and world renowned = it's obvious that quality is and always will be better than quantity. The food has always been excellent, pricey, but worth every dollar :). Also, may I please recommend the martini's - undoubtedly the BEST ever. I am proud of his hard work and incredible accomplishments. Joy Meadows Mountain Brook, AL

frank stitt has made our city the "go to" place for fabulous food. if you want as good or better, head to new york. highlands, bottega, fon fon and bottega cafe are all fantastic. we would be sunk without frank. xxjs
